Walkerburn Summer Festival. Bike Ride
This is a view I know very well having driven, walked or run across it countless times since we moved out of Innerleithen to Glenbenna.
Walkerburn is our very close neighbour and every year, as a part of their summer festival, there is a family cycle run: leaving from the HB Club (often in the pouring rain), over the bridge, past the bowling green and then left along the back road to Elibank. All ages, all abilities, all weather.
Technically speaking, pattern is important in this print: the separation of elements so it is clear what each object is. For example the shape the 3 trees make against the white building above the bridge; the patterns of the tree plantations on the hillside, the patterns and shapes in the cast-iron sides of the bridge, and the shapes made by throwing shadows across the road.
